At the request of Councilwoman Helena Moreno, the New Orleans City Council is now urging that a sexual harassment survey be conducted of workers at City Hall.

The move comes after a number of complaints came to light about alleged inappropriate behavior in various city departments.

The move is being supported by Mayor LaToya Cantrell who, according to The Advocate, has in the past noted the need to clean up the "cesspool" of harassment.

Council members also want the Civil Service Commission to find out if men and women in City Hall are being paid equally.
