It's a better week for driving around in Louisiana, at least when it comes to the downward trend in gas prices of late.
AAA is reporting that the statewide average price of regular has dropped into the ballpark of $2.54 a gallon, down about a nickel from last Monday.
Gas price tracking site GasBuddy says drivers in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge areas are likely seeing prices around $2.48 a gallon.
The not so good news is that the fuel is still costing drivers about 33 cents more per gallon compared to a year ago.
