Officials: NOLA Real-Time Crime Center, Cameras Up City's Safety

A year into the operation of New Orleans' Real-Time Crime Center, officials say the city is now a safer place to live.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell and Police Superintendent Michael Harrison were among those who took part in a News conference Monday to tout the success of the operation that utilizes hundreds of live camera feeds to track and solve criminal activity.

The cameras have also been successfully used in instances of fires, flooding and illegal dumping.
