State wildlife officials in Baton Rouge say two Houma men are in trouble for allegedly harvesting oysters in a polluted waterway of Terrrbonne Parish.

The pair is accused of gathering the oysters from the Sister Lake Public Oyster Seed Reservation that was closed because of high levels of fecal coliform bacteria resulting from animal or human waste.

17 sacks of oysters were seized, with the men facing the possibility of hundreds of dollars in fines and upwards of 120 days in jail.
