NOPD: Teen Falsely Reported Shooting To Cover Up Crash Of Stolen Car

New Orleans police say that a 14-year-old boy is accused of trying to lie his way out of his involvement in the hit-and-run crash of a stolen car.

The incident happened just after noon Christmas day, when the teen told investigating officers responding to a shots-fired call that he had been grazed by a bullet. Investigators determined the boy's injuries had been sustained in the wreck.

He's facing charges that include possession of stolen property and obstruction of justice.
