Fireworks Stands Across Louisiana Shutdown For Illegal Sales

This is the night that Louisiana residents will be welcoming in the New Year by setting off a barrage of fireworks or attending organized fireworks shows.

Ahead of tonight, we're learning that the state Fire Marshal's Office has shutdown at least eight retail fireworks stands that were operating in Acadia, Iberia, Lafayette, Sabine and St. Martin parishes. They were all busted for selling illegal fireworks.

Agents also discovered that hundreds of thousands of dollars in suspected illegal fireworks were found stored inside a large warehouse in Acadia Parish.
