Irish Channel St. Patrick's Day Parade Organizers are announcing it will be resuming it's original route.

Now that street construction on Louisiana Avenue is complete, the parade can resume it's traditional route beginning at Magazine and Felicity Streets.

This year's parade will take place at 1:00 p.m. on March 16th, a day before St. Patrick's Day, and the Grand Marshal will be Normand Ryan.

Ryan is a retired teacher and coach, as well as a longtime member of the Irish Channel Marching Club and the Krewe of Thoth.

His father-in-law, Normal Gallagher, Sr., was the grand marshal in 1972.
