Baton Rouge Truck Driver Arrested After Gulf Coast Chase, Standoff

An armed Louisiana truck driver is in custody following a chase that involved multiple police agency vehicles.

It all began in Mobile yesterday morning after a reported road rage incident with an ambulance and ended on I-10 in Mississippi near the Gautier-Vancleave exit.

The highway patrol says 33-year-old Michael Mack of Baton Rouge is charged with felony pursuit in Jackson County and likely to face charges in other jurisdictions.

Troopers say Mack was armed with a machete but never threatened officers with it during an hours-long standoff that ended around 2 p.m.
