Colleagues of a St. Tammany Parish School Board member say she should consider resigning after her arrest on a shoplifting charge.
At the very least, the board, in a statement released yesterday, says Sharon Lo Drucker should apologize.
Board President Elizabeth Heintz says Drucker told her that she has no plans to step down, and says she'll only be speaking through her attorney.
"Mrs. Drucker was elected to the School Board by her constituents, and only her constituents have the power to lead a recall effort," Heintz added.
The misdemeanor shoplifting arrest was made at a Walmart last July where authorities allegedly found $58 of unpaid merchandise in her purse.
