The first of nine meetings to be held around the state to seek public input and provide information about the new Louisiana Civil Rights Trail are being held today in New Orleans.

Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser is hosting the get togethers that are being held to determine, among other things, the locations for the trail and the events associated with the state's civil rights history.

Two meetings are on the agenda today, with the first set until Noon at the Small Center on Baronne Street in New Orleans, and the second this afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tangipahoa Parish African American Museum in Hammond.
