Ex-JPS Teacher Accused Of Inappropriate Contact With Kids

A now former employee of the Jefferson Parish Schools is charged with two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles.

The sheriff's office says 36-year-old Anthony Prejean, of Chalmette, surrendered yesterday. It's alleged that Prejean, on separate occasions, held the hand of two eight-year-old girls while at Live Oak Manor Elementary School in Waggaman.

He is said to have had them touch him outside his clothing in the groin area and moved their hand in an up-and-down motion.

Prejean resigned when JPS launched its investigation.
