State Capitol Evacuated Monday After Smell Of Smoke

Baton Rouge, Louisiana - State Capitol

Things should be back to normal today at the Louisiana State Capitol, but that wasn't the case early last night when a fire alarm was triggered and the smell of smoke permeated the air.

Lawmakers evacuated the building just before 6 p.m. but returned a short time later.

A Facebook post from the State Fire Marshal's Office said the smoke came a kitchen area.
