Teen Charged In Deadly Shooting After Breaking Into Car

New Orleans police say a 17-year-old boy is charged with second-degree murder in a shooting that occurred when a couple responded Wednesday night to find someone had broken into their car.

Someone inside a getaway vehicle told the teen to open fire. He did, killing 63-year-old Zelda Townsend and injuring her husband.

The suspect, Emanuel Pipkins, was hit in an exchange of gunfire with the husband, and later arrested after he sought treatment at a hospital.
