12-Year-Old Arrested For Shooting Mother On S. Roman St.

A 12-year-old is facing attempted second-degree murder charges for the shooting of his mother.

Officers say they responded to the 1400-block of South Roman Street around 7:20 a.m. where they found the woman with a gunshot wound to her head.

Detectives discovered that only the young son and a two-year-old daughter were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

Then, a warrant turned up a firearm and a single spent casing in the boy's bedroom.

The mother is hospitalized in critical condition.
