Barry Back To Tropical Storm After Landfall Near Intracoastal City

Barry fell back to tropical storm status as of 1 p.m. Saturday with the National Hurricane Center officially noting landfall occurred near Intracoastal City.

The storm's max winds were at 70 miles per hour as Barry continued to creep northwest at six miles per hour.

The NHC dropped the hurricane watch for the Louisiana coast west of Intracoastal City and expected to drop a hurricane warning along the coast sometime in the afternoon.

The threat continues for heavy rains pulled from the Gulf moving over parts of southeast Louisiana through the evening and into Sunday.

NOAA's Weather Prediction Center continues to forecast cumulative rain amount of six to 10 inches with isolated larger amounts possible

A moderate to high risk of flash flooding remains through Sunday morning, a slight to moderate risk through Monday morning, and a marginal risk through Tuesday morning.
