NOLA City Council Discusses Recent Flooding With Sewerage & Water Board

Members of the New Orleans City Council are discussing Wednesday's floods with officials from the Sewerage and Water Board.

Sewerage and Water Board officials say that the biggest problem was eight inches of rainfall in some places in just two hours, which is more than quadruple what the system is meant to handle.

In addition to excess amounts of rainfall, there was a water main break at one of the pumping stations and a lightning strike that caused pumps to go down at another station.
