New EPA Memo Reveals Officials Knew About Gert Town Radiation Issue

President Trump's Budget Calls For Major Cuts To EPA

Attorneys say a newly released memo proves authorities had prior knowledge of radioactive material underneath a street in Gert Town.

The Environmental Protection Agency memo was made public yesterday as part of a lawsuit filed on behalf of residents in Gert Town.

The plaintiffs allege the city of New Orleans knew about the dangerous material but did not clean it up.

The EPA's memo is dated May 17th, 2019 and references a study by the U.S. Department of Energy about the radiation prior to the 2013 Super Bowl.
