New Orleans Not Ready To Enforce New Rental Regulations

As the City Council moves toward cracking down on short-term rentals, the city has yet to begin staffing for the new regulations.

Mayor LaToya Cantrell's administration has access to almost $2 million from the state for the project, but has yet to prepare for the heavier workload that will come from the increased enforcement.

More lawyers, inspectors, and financial officials are necessary to ensure the new regulations.

The council is expected to take a final vote on the revised rental rules August 8th.
