A former Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Deputy is facing upgraded charges following a new indictment by a grand jury.
An arrest warrant was issued yesterday for Glaude Joey Istre on two counts of first-degree rape.
Istre had previously been booked in St. Bernard Parish back in February on second-degree rape but with the upgraded indictment could now be sentenced to life in prison if convicted.
Istre could still see more charges levied against him as he is the subject of several open investigations into other sexual assault complaints.
