Airport officials are advising air travelers to arrive at least two-and-a-half hours early this week for the holidays.
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport sent out a travel recommendation yesterday, telling potential passengers to work extra time into their itinerary to deal with an expected large amount of travelers this year.
MSY said they expect over 350,000 people to pass through the new terminal starting today until this coming Sunday, an increase of over 50,000 from last year.
Nationwide the TSA says 2019 might see a record number of travelers with the busiest days expected to be Wednesday, November 27th, and Sunday December 2nd.
