Former Saints linebacker Sam Mills is among the modern-era semi-finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2020.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton announced the names of 25 former players who were nominated yesterday with Mills making the list for the third time.
Mills played for New Orleans from 1986 to 1994 and Carolina from 1995 to 1997, appearing in 181-games with over 1,100 tackles, 20 1/2 sacks, and five Pro Bowl selections.
A member of the vaunted Saints defensive unit known as the Dome Patrol of the early 1990s, Mills passed away from cancer in 2005 at the age of 45.
