NTSB Begins Investigation Into Fatal Weekend Plane Crash Near Lafayette

US Airways Passenger Jet Crashes Into Hudson River By NYC

The National Transportation Safety Board is now in charge of the investigation into a plane crash that killed five people traveling to the Peach Bowl.

The agency said they had investigators working at the site yesterday in an empty field near a post office outside of the Lafayette Regional Airport.

Pilot Ian Biggs and passengers Robert Crisp the Second, Carley Ann McCord, Gretchen Vincent, and Michael Vincent were killed while Stephen Berzas was injured and is in the hospital.

The NTSB says crash investigations involving fatalities can take between 12 to 24 months to complete.
