Teenager Who Died In JPSO Custody Was Autistic

Those who knew a 16-year-old boy who died on Sunday after attacking his father and a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Deputy say he was severely autistic.

On Monday, the general manager of a Laser Tag facility where the incident happened, said that the boy and his family were long-time guests and he had special needs.

The teen became unresponsive after suffering an undisclosed medical emergency shortly after he attacked and bit his father and the deputy and later died at the hospital.

The results of an autopsy are expected to be released later this week.
