Officials are saying they have recovered a man's body from the Mississippi River in the Spanish Plaza near the Riverwalk mall.
According to reports, the discovery was made on Sunday afternoon around 2:30 p.m.
The man's identity was not immediately known, and an investigation has begun.
Authorities did not comment on if the body could belong to one of two crewmen of the RC Creppal tugboat who were lost in the river last week near mile marker 123 in St. Charles Parish.
