LSP Lieutenant Demoted Amid Hazing Scandal

Louisiana State Police Badge

A Louisiana State Police Lieutenant is being demoted to the rank of sergeant after he was accused of hazing LSP cadets.

Officials announced yesterday that Lenias Marie was removed from his higher-up position until the investigation into the hazing allegations are complete.

According to reports, relatives of cadets reported back in October that several cadets were injured during alleged hazing that occurred during training, requiring some to seek treatment at a hospital.

The Louisiana State Police Commission says the investigation is ongoing.
