Records Show City Inspectors At Hard Rock Hotel Site Not Properly Certified

An investigation into the fatal collapse of the Hard Rock Hotel last October is revealing new information about inspectors who were not qualified to work.

According to new documents released yesterday, one of the city's building inspectors was only certified for residential inspections, and another signed off on four reports about the Hard Rock before they were properly licensed.

The new findings come in the midst of a federal corruption probe into the city's Department of Safety and Permits.

No criminal charges have been filed and OHSA is expected to release a report on the collapse in mid-April.
