New Orleans, Baton Rouge Hospitals Welcome Mardi Gras Babies

King Cake and Baby Jesus

Two couples are welcoming a Mardi Gras baby they didn't find in a king cake but got the old fashioned way at a Louisiana hospital.

Parents Christina and Paul welcomed baby Armani into the world just after midnight at Baton Rouge General for their first Mardi Gras baby, while Ochsner Baptist said baby Mary was born at their facility to Lindsay and John around 1 p.m. as their first Mardi Gras birth.

Both hospitals marked the occasion with special baby clothing and a small parade at Baton Rouge General.

Armani and Mary will next celebrate their birthdays on a Fat Tuesday when they each turn eleven in 2031.
