The NOPD is investigating a domestic incident which ended with a small child being shot in the neck by their grandparent.
According to reports, the child's mother and father got into an argument yesterday near Tulane Avenue and South Galvez Street, which led to other family members becoming involved and the shooting.
Officials said the male child is around one-year-old and the shooter had fled before they could be questioned.
The child is in the hospital in stable condition, and doctors say the bullet appears to have only caused a grazing wound.
