Coronavirus Graffiti Murals Pop Up In The City

A traveling graffiti muralist is giving the city its first major coronavirus crisis art.

The artist, who calls himself Bandit, painted Our Nurses, Our Saints in the Lower 9th Ward which depicts a trio of seemingly exhausted healthcare providers.

In a telephone conversation Wednesday, the artist said the painting was a simple shout-out to the folks on the front line of the pandemic.

Bandit also has two other murals throughout the city, one that depicts children toying with rolls of toilet paper and another that shows a couple embracing.
