New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell says she will not be bullied into reopening businesses too soon during the pandemic.
Cantrell responded yesterday to a full-page newspaper ad from New Orleans businesses asking for the city to begin the process of restarting the economy on May 1st.
Officials say allowing stores, restaurants, bars, and others to reopen must be done in a specific manner since tourists are not expected to return to New Orleans in large numbers right away.
