Around 100 people at three different crawfish farms are testing positive for COVID-19.

The Office of Public Health is contributing the outbreaks in-part to migrant workers living in dormitory-like settings.

The seafood industry has hired laborers from other countries to work at crawfish farms in the Acadiana region and other facilities in the state.

The Department of Health is declining to name the private businesses and will continue to work with the facilities to prevent further spread of the virus.
