Governor John Bel Edwards will hold a press conference today to discuss phase two of the state's re-opening.
Edwards is expected to discuss the number of COVID-19 related illnesses reported to emergency rooms, which needs to show a decline to be able to move to phase two on its June 5th target date.
Under phase two, many businesses like tattoo and massage parlors, spas, amusement parks, museums, and bars that don't serve food could start to see guidelines for re-opening.
The Department of Health on Sunday said there are around 9,000 active cases of COVID-19 in the state with just under 700 of those requiring hospitalization.
