South Louisiana In Christobal's Cone Of Uncertainity

The National Hurricane Center has placed south Louisiana in Tropical Storm Christobal's "cone-of-uncertainty" as many questions about the storm's future remain.

Christobal continues to drift slowly southward in the Bay of Campeche as of Tuesday afternoon with maximum winds of 40 miles per hour with higher gusts. The storm is expected to make landfall over eastern Mexico tomorrow and weaken into a depression.

The question on whether the storm will re-emerge into the Bay of Campeche and strengthen back to a tropical storm depends on that land interaction. For now, the official track says that could happen by Friday and then Christobal would move northward towards the Gulf Coast, but NHC forecasters note models are not in agreement and there is a "significant amount of uncertainty" in days 4 and 5.
