New Orleans councilman Jason Williams says he is involved in an investigation into his federal tax filings over the past several years.
Williams spoke yesterday, saying he is cooperating with federal officials and feels like a victim in the matter.
The councilman said he believes the investigation is being done in retaliation to his bid for District Attorney against current D.A. Leon Cannizzaro, who has denied any involvement.
Williams says his tax preparer Henry Timothy mishandled his taxes, so he has filed a civil lawsuit against him.
