A first-year member of the New Orleans Police Department is out of a job after being accused of striking a Slidell Police Officer in the head.

NOPD officials confirmed yesterday that Daniel Frazher had been fired for his actions during an incident while Slidell Police were trying to detain him.

Witnesses say Frazher struck the Slidell officer during the altercation and caused an injury to their lip.

Slidell Police have also charged Frazher with battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, public intoxication, and disturbing the peace.
