Gov. Edwards Says Louisiana Going In Wrong Direction On Coronavirus

Governor John Bel Edwards is warning that the state is heading in the wrong direction when it comes to COVID-19.

During an update on the pandemic yesterday, Edwards said the state has erased all of the progress made in June and is now seeing case numbers rivaling those seen in April during the early part of the crisis.

Edwards said there is no centralized hotspot causing the spike in numbers, and the problem is statewide.

Officials are pointing to bars, industrial settings, restaurants, food processing centers, and colleges as areas where COVID-19 is actively spreading.
