Louisiana Emergency Rental Assistance Program Suspended Due To High Demand

State officials are suspending the new Emergency Rental Assistance Program's application process due to high demand.

The website portal to apply for assistance was changed yesterday to a message confirming the program's halt and directing people to a link to receive a notification when the process re-opens.

Governor Edwards said last week the program would provide around $24 million to Louisiana renters facing financial hardships related to the COVID-19 crisis.

The program was designed to assist households with incomes between $13,000 and $25,000.
