Presumed Recovered From COVID-19 In La. Now Over 74,000

The Louisiana Department of Health reported the total number of reported COVID-19 cases stood at 112,773 Wednesday with the addition of 1,735 cases and the daily removal of newly identified duplicates and out-of-state cases.

State health officials said most of the newly reported cases were collection between July 22 and July 29, and 92% can be blamed on community spread. 31% of Wednesday's reported cases involved those 29 and younger.

Hospitalizations continue to fall, down 39 to 1,544 while the number of patients on ventilators rose by seven to 221.

The death count from COVID-19 increased by 69 to 3,769.

The latest count of presumed recovered statewide is 74,246.
