Officials with Jefferson Parish Schools say in the two days since returning to their buildings, several teachers have tested positive for COVID-19.
Since classrooms opened to faculty on August 3, a handful of positive cases have been discovered among the 7,000 employees in the school system.
Jefferson Parish released a statement saying it expects successes and challenges as students and staff return to schools, and safety remains a critical concern.
