1,215 New COVID-19 Cases, Over 103,000 Presumed Recovered In Louisiana

Over 100,000 are presumed recovered from COVID-19, the Louisiana Department of Health said Wednesday.

The latest update on coronavirus numbers statewide put the number at 103,512 as of August 3.

The state also reported just over 1,215 cases to bring the total number since the pandemic began to 134,304 after the daily removal of newly discovered duplicates and out of state cases.

Collection dates for most of the new cases were between August 5 and August 12, with 80% blamed on community spread and 27% involving those aged 29 and under.

The death count rose by 43 to 4,238.

LDH reported 15 fewer patients in hospitals, bringing that count to 1,320. Those on ventilators fell by three to 211.
