Louisiana's Secretary of State is trying to roll back COVID-19 related exceptions expanding absentee mail-in voting options.

Kyle Ardoin's plan will only allow a COVID-19 exemption for someone who tests positive for the virus during and after early voting before election day.

In the previous plan voters were able to get a COVID-19 absentee ballot if they were in self quarantine, had symptoms or were under an isolation order.

Ardoin's plan has to clear the house and Governmental Affairs Committee, the Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee before the full House and Senate vote on Thursday.
