Mayor LaToya Cantrell is proposing new tax cuts to help infrastructure.

On Tuesday, the Mayor of New Orleans proposed to rearrange a series of expiring taxes to plug more money into housing and early childhood education while cutting the dedicated funding for the New Orleans Public Library.

The new plan could cause major cuts into the main sources of the library's revenue.

A City Council committee is expected to vote Thursday on whether to put the four new millages that would be created by the plan on the December ballot.
