Just one day after the fall semester began, nearly two dozen students at the University of New Orleans are now being quarantined.

On Thursday, a spokesman for the university said that five students in a residence hall tested positive for the coronavirus and another 17 had likely been exposed.

Officials say they had set aside dorm rooms for just this purpose, and are delivering meals to the students currently in isolation.

All other students will be able to continue their courses because the first eight days of the semester are online.
