There were 21 fewer patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in Louisiana, state health officials said Monday.

The latest update from the Louisiana Department of Health put the total number of patients statewide at 881 with 132 on ventilators, down 11 from Sunday.

324 additional cases brought the total number of reported cases since the pandemic began in Louisiana to 148,193 following the daily removal of newly identified duplicates and out of state cases.

LDH said that collection dates for the new cases fell between August 24 and August 30, with 89% blamed on community spread. Those 29 and younger made up 37% of the new cases.

The death count from the coronavirus increased by 19 to 4,787.
