LDH: Over 134,000 Presumed Recovered From COVID-19 In Louisiana

The Louisiana Department of Health said Wednesday there were 134,432 presumed recovered from COVID-19 statewide as of August 31.

The latest numbers on the coronavirus included the report of 972 additional cases and 20 deaths.

Collection dates for the newest cases fell between August 25 and September 1, LDH said in a tweet. 88% of the cases were blamed on community spread. 42% involved those 29 and younger, and 32% were those between 18-29.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Louisiana since the pandemic began stood at 149,838 after the daily removal of newly discovered duplicates and out of state cases. The total death count was 4,841.

Hospitalizations were down by 37 to 873, while the number of patients on ventilators rose by four to 132.
