The Louisiana Department of Health says they can confirm three more deaths directly related to Hurricane Laura.

Officials said yesterday that a 65-year-old man and a 50-year-old man, both from Rapides Parish, died from medical conditions exacerbated by excessive heat, and a 70-year-old man in Calcasieu Parish died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Four victims in the past two days have died from heat-related illnesses linked to the storm.

Doctors say almost half of the 20 deaths from Hurricane Laura are related to carbon monoxide poisoning.
