Number Of COVID-19 Patients In Louisiana On Ventilators Falls To Under 100

Hospitalizations due COVID-19 in Louisiana continued to fall Friday, with state health officials reported 808 statewide, a decrease of 43 from Thursday.

The number of patients also fell to 96, down 32 from the previous day.

The Louisiana Department of Health reported an additional 828 cases, bringing the total since the pandemic begain to 151,473 after the daily removal of newly discovered duplicates and out of state cases.

Most of the new cases were collected between August 27 and September 3, with 85% blamed on community spread. 41% of the cases involved those aged 29 and under, with 31% aged between 18 and 29.

The death count rose by 14 to 4,872.
