Over 140,000 Presumed Recovered From COVID-19 In Louisiana

The Louisiana Department of Health said Thursday there are 140,440 presumed recovered from COVID-19 out of 155,419 total cases.

The latest numbers on the coronavirus from LDH showed 499 new cases and 21 new deaths. The death toll in Louisiana from COVID-19 stood at 4,991.

State health officials said the collection dates for most of the new cases fell between September 2 and September 9. 87% were blamed on community spread, 33% involved those aged 29 and under and 20% involved those between 18 and 29 years of age.

Hospitalizations from COVID-19 fell by 20 to 762 while the number of patients on ventilators rose slightly by 2 to 125.

Gov. John Bel Edwards announced that Louisiana will enter Phase 3 of its reopening and recovery from the coronavirus starting on Friday.
