The Louisiana Department of Health reported just 249 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, bringing the running total to 161,462 after the daily removal of newly discovered duplicates and out of state cases.
LDH said the collection dates fell between September 14 - 20, with 84% coming from community spread.
Nine additional deaths were blamed on the coronavirus, bringing that total to 5,207.
Hospitalizations fell by nine to 587, with 93 patients on ventilators, a decrease of seven.
