The identity of the woman who was killed by her boyfriend during a domestic disturbance is being released by her family.
On Tuesday, the family of Louvenia Penwright, 54, said she was shot by her boyfriend, Willie Shropshire Jr., 57, during an argument earlier this week.
Officials say the shooting happened outside a home near Grambling Court, and Shropshire was killed by Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Deputies, who were on the scene and witnessed him kill Penwright.
Sheriff Joe Lopinto said no deputies were injured in the shooting and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
